FINALE INDEPENDENT WRITING PIECE!!!!!!!

Did you ever think that love was easy? In the  book NIGHTSHADE  by Andrea Cremer the main character Calla thought that love was going to be easy but only found out  that love was harder than people say it is. I believe the theme of this book is love is difficult because that is what Calla found out when she fell in love with Ren and Shay.

The first time I saw the theme of the book was when Calla saves Shay from the bear.  When she saves him even though she is not allowed to you can tell that she has feelings for him. She kept thinking that she was going to get in trouble but the Keepers, the people that Calla works for, never seemed to find out about it.

Another time that the theme appears is right after the accident encounter. Calla finds out that Shay is going to be at her school and can't stop thinking about him. She tried to ignore him when he came but she kept having her attention drawn to him instead of to her "mate" Ren.

After Shay comes to her school Calla finds out from her master Logan that she is supposed to protect Shay. She is to spend time with  him and get to know him but in the process they fall in love and she finds that she is trying to keep her relationship with Shay a secret from Ren and the Keepers.

The final time that I saw the theme was when Calla finds out that Shay is the prey that Ren and herself have to hunt and kill to  prove that they can lead a pack. Calla goes out of her way to save Shay and they end up together in the enemy territory of the Keepers.
